Sierra Kidd (* 23. September 1996 in Emden as Manuel Marc Jungclaussen ), also known as Kidd , is a German rapper , who until January 2015, the record company Indipendenza was under contract. He then founded his current label, TeamFuckSleep. His rap style is based on the trap from the United States . Since 2015 he has been using auto-tune excessively as a stylistic device in order to be able to specifically create certain atmospheres .

Career

Energy in the Park 2014

Manuel Marc Jungclaussen initially appeared under the artist name Zwille and released various freetracks , the extended play Stadtlichter and the album Nicki Minaj .

On January 16, 2013, he uploaded his first video with Kopfvilla under the artist name Sierra Kidd on YouTube . Initially, it received little attention, but gained fame among readers of Internet magazines and musicians such as Vega , RAF Camora and Chakuza via Facebook . On June 28, 2013 he was signed to the Indipendenza label.

On December 20, 2013, he released his first official Extended Play Kopfvilla , which reached number 43 in the German single charts. His first studio album Nirgendwer was released on July 4, 2014 and reached number 6 in the German charts. His Extended Play Kopfvilla 2.0 was released at the same time as Nirgendwer , which was only available in the limited fan edition of the studio album.

At the tenth Bundesvision Song Contest on September 20, 2014, he started with the song 20,000 roses for Lower Saxony and took thirteenth place.

After Nirgendwer he released the album Kidd of Rap: Kill It in 2014 , which was only available online for free download.

On January 25, 2015, he announced his separation from Indipendenza and the establishment of his own label TeamFuckSleep via Facebook , which will publish his future releases.

After releasing several free tracks, the album FSOD , which stands for Fuck Sleep Or Die, was released on September 25, 2015, without any announcement . It reached number 8 on the German iTunes charts.

On September 17th, 2016 he released his extended play b4death on SoundCloud .

About a month after the release of his last extended play, his extended play B4FUNERAL followed on October 28, 2016.

After B4FUNERAL it became very quiet around him. In 2017 he announced the end of his career with the studio album Rest In Peace . However, he came back with new music, a new style and a new image. Rest In Peace was released on June 9, 2017 and reached number 8 in the German charts. His extended plays Sierra Kidd & Friends , Sierra Kidd Live and Bando appeared at the same time as Rest In Peace .

After releasing more free tracks , he released the album DAYS BEFORE REAL LIFE , which was released on October 20, 2017 and consists of several free tracks that he had previously uploaded to YouTube.

Shortly thereafter, on November 24, 2017, he released his album FS Mansion , which stands for FuckSleep Mansion, as an aftershow mixtape for the Rest In Peace Tour 2017.

At the beginning of 2018 he announced another extended play, called Facetats & Heartsbreaks , and published a total of three titles, including a complete track list, on YouTube. A short time later, however, he deleted these videos and canceled the publication of the extended play. Shortly afterwards, he announced in a live stream that the extended play Facetats & Heartbreaks will be released with the studio album Real Life , which he released for pre-order in May 2018. However, since he has canceled the release of Real Life , it is uncertain whether a full version of the extended play Facetats & Heartbreaks will be released.

The extended play REAL LIFE was released on December 7, 2018 . This consists of six tracks from the original album Real Life , which were also released under this title.

In 2018 he wanted to change his stage name to Kidd . However, this change was never officially implemented.

On May 3, 2019, he came back from his almost one year social media break and announced his studio album TFS , which stands for TeamFuckSleep. This was published on July 12, 2019 and reached number 5 in the German charts. It is a profound album which, according to his own statement, is his most personal work to date.

The digitally available studio album 600 Tage was released on June 19, 2020 .

Sierra Kidd has suffered from Generalized Anxiety Disorder since January 2018 . He deals with these on his studio album TFS and especially on the January 2018 track , which was produced by the producer and artist Wilson or wxlsxn .

Label

After separating from the Indipendenza label in 2015, he founded his own label TeamFuckSleep on January 25th of the same year . According to his own statement, he doesn't want to sign any artists there, but rather only promote smaller artists with TeamFuckSleep .
