Sebastian Hackel (born June 7, 1989 in Zwickau ) is a German songwriter .

Life

Musical career

Sebastian Hackel began his musical career as a drummer. From 2007 he began to write songs in German and for acoustic guitar and to publish them on various platforms. Sebastian Hackel was nominated by 2Raumwohnung for the MySpace Featured Artist in September 2009 . In October 2009 he won a competition from Scheune Dresden . He was discovered and promoted by Tom Liwa . This was followed by the publication of the song Why She Laughs on a compilation for Rolling Stone magazine . With this song he also appeared on November 19, 2011 at Inas Nacht . Together with nine other recordings from this series, Ina Müller published it on the bonus CD Inas kleine Nachtmusik for her album Ich bin die .

Hackel's debut album Kreideblumen was released on October 21, 2011 via Liwa's Ludwig label and distributed by Indigo .

In 2014 he released the album Tageszeitenkurier through Welcome Home Music (distribution: Rough Trade Distribution ) . With the song Why she laughs , he took part in the tenth Bundesvision Song Contest for the state of Saxony on September 20, 2014 and finished in 15th place with 10 points, tied with Brandenburg.

On February 1, 2019, Hackel released the album and everyone so hysterically .

Private

Sebastian Hackel attended boarding school in Zwickau and then completed an educator training in Dresden.

Music genre

Sebastian Hackel plays his songs on an acoustic guitar . His music is described as melancholy and gentle. The texts are personal and are often based on everyday experiences. His singing voice rises in the songs to falsetto and occasionally he builds a "quiver" into his vocal line.
