The 5th Bundesvision Song Contest took place on February 13, 2009 in Potsdam ( Brandenburg ). The competition was broadcast live from the Metropolis Hall in the Babelsberg Film Park . After the victory of the folk metal band Subway to Sally the year before , the state of Brandenburg was allowed to host the competition for the first time. As in the last two years, it was moderated by Stefan Raab and Johanna Klum . The artists were presented on TV total from January 19, 2009 to February 12, 2009 . The moderation behind the stage was again Elton . With Bayern 3 , a public broadcaster supported the event for the first time.
The winner was Peter Fox for Berlin with the title Black to Blue ; With 174 points he was the most successful participant in the Bundesvision Song Contest to date. Second place went to Polarkreis 18 from Saxony with the title The Color of Snow . Fox had already represented the federal capital at the Bundesvision Song Contest 2006 with the then winning band Seeed . Chapeau Claque represented Thuringia as early as 2007 (then together with Northern Lite ); Sven van Thom appeared for Brandenburg in 2007 with the band Beatplanet . Berlin had already won the Bundesvision Song Contest in 2006 and thus topped the “eternal” ranking of the competition.
