Pascal Finkenauer

Pascal Finkenauer (* 1977 near Mainz ) is a German musician, singer and music producer .

Career

Finkenauer grew up in Roxheim near Bad Kreuznach and moved with his parents to the Lüneburg area when he was young . At the age of sixteen he became a member of the post-hardcore band Exhaust and did an internship in a music studio at the same time . There he was able to develop creatively and gain experience over the following years.

With the band JAW , which he founded in 1997 with the synth programmer JF Sebastian, he released the English-language album No Blue Peril in 2000 . The strongly electronically oriented band often integrated theater and poetry readings into their concerts.

In January 2004, Pascal returned with JF Sebastian with the trash punk project The Black Cherries and the CD of the same name.

In mid-August 2004 his German solo debut Finkenauer began with the single Völlig Egal . His voice can also be heard in the chorus of the title On days like these on the Fettes-Brot album Am Wasser built . As a single, the socially critical song made it to number 9 in the German single charts and helped the hitherto rather unknown artist to attract greater public attention , especially through its appearance at the Comet Awards in 2005. He can also be heard on the album Strom und Drang by Fettes Brot in the song I won't let you go . He accompanied Fettes Brot until 2010 as a guitarist and singer in their live band.

His second solo album, Beste Welt, was released in early 2007 . The single Sometimes between the buildings rose to number 69 in the German single charts in the first week and stayed in the top 100 for three weeks.

In 2008 he toured Israel at the invitation of the Goethe Institute and played concerts in Tel Aviv and Haifa.

At the beginning of 2009 Finkenauer founded his own label PascalFinkenauerTonträger / AnotherPlace and published his third solo album Unter Grund there . With the preliminary single Unter Grund , he represented Rhineland-Palatinate at the Bundesvision Song Contest 2009 and took 12th place.

In the same year he self- published the volume of poems Techno .

The English-language EP Diamond followed in 2011, and in 2013 the German-language album Pascal Finkenauer in cooperation with the Hamburg label Trocadero , which he recorded with his live band at the time.

The EP Tourist was released in 2014 .

After several years in which he occasionally played solo concerts, he released the solo acoustic album Lights See in 2019 , followed by the EP Pink / Swimmingpool .

Pascal Finkenauer can also be heard in various collaborations, such as B. in the piece Mexico is Waiting by Zwanie Jonson, How Real Is The Sun Today by mESMO and Travel in Time by Comfortable Cave Goodbye.
