Roxheim is a municipality in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Rüdesheim .
geography
Roxheim is located in the Soonwald-Nahe Nature Park, northwest of Bad Kreuznach . The Katzenbach, a left tributary of the Ellerbach, flows through the village .
The Rollars Mühle and Schauß Mühle residential areas also belong to Roxheim .
history
The place was mentioned in a document in 773 as Hrocchesheim . Today's Evangelical Church in Roxheim dates from the 13th century. From 1350 he belonged to the county of Sponheim . After the French Revolution, Roxheim was part of the Rhine-Moselle department for 16 years . 1815–1945 it belonged to Prussia .

Economy and Infrastructure
In Roxheim there is a horse stable for accommodation and lessons, a day-care center, a primary school, a community library, the Hörning inn, as well as Weinsheimer, a food market and a butcher's shop. The winemaking families von Merz, Schaller, Hartmann, Heil and Weinsheimer enrich the Nahe region with exquisite wines.
In addition, the nearby ARAL petrol station and the ALDI discounter also belong to the village.

From 1895 to 1936 Roxheim owned a train station on the narrow-gauge railway line Bad Kreuznach-Wallhausen . Omnibuses and a truck replaced their traffic.
