Thorsten Mäder

Thorsten Mäder (* 1969 ) is a German organist , conductor and music teacher .

Mäder studied organ and piano in Frankfurt am Main . This was followed by studying church music in Munich and Halle , which he completed with exams B and A, as well as a music director's degree in Frankfurt am Main. From 1993 to 1998 Mäder worked at the B church musician position in the Protestant parish of Bad Neuenahr . In 1999 Mäder was a lecturer in organ playing at the Hansei University in Seoul / South Korea. From 2003 to 2004 he represented Beate Rux-Voss on maternity leave at the Pauluskirche in Bad Kreuznach . He worked as a conductor at the Koblenz Theater and as a choir director and assistant conductor with the China National Symphony Orchestra Beijing . Further guest conductors have taken him to the Junge Philharmonie Cologne , the Seoul Baroque Ensemble and the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt . He also directs the combined church choirs of Windesheim and Guldental .

Mäder has given concerts as an organist in Poland, England, Spain, Finland, Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Russia. Mäder lives in Roxheim . He also looks after the Organ Art Museum in Windesheim. Since 2009 he has been teaching as a music teacher at the Integrated Comprehensive School Stromberg (Hunsrück) , and in 2014 he switched to teaching at the German School in Seoul . Currently (as of October 2018) he is back in Germany at the IGS.
