history

The Verbandsgemeinde Rüdesheim was created as part of the functional and territorial reform that began in the 1960s with the Eighth State Law on Administrative Simplification in the State of Rhineland-Palatinate of July 28, 1970, which came into force on November 7, 1970, through the merger of the former Waldböckelheim offices and Wallhausen as well as nine municipalities of the Rüdesheim office and three municipalities of the Winterburg office .

On January 1, 2017, Duchroth , Niederhausen , Norheim , Oberhausen an der Nahe and Traisen were incorporated from the dissolved community of Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg .

Association municipal council

The Verbandsgemeinderat Rüdesheim consists of 36 honorary council members, who were elected in a personalized proportional representation in the local elections on February 18, 2018 , and the full-time mayor as chairman.

The early election was necessary due to the inclusion of five new local communities from the former Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg community .
