Traisen is a municipality in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Rüdesheim . Traisen is a wine growing place . A large part of the Rotenfels area belongs to Traisen .

geography

Traisen is located about four kilometers southwest of the center of the city of Bad Kreuznach on a plateau above the Nahe . The village covers altitudes between 170  m above sea level. NHN and 205  m above sea level NHN . The shores of the river, the terrain falls on the southeast Hasenberg , the Lercher mountain , the Nauberg and the idol rock from. In terms of nature , the 20% forested municipal area is divided into four: an eastern section can be assigned to the Kreuznacher Hardt , the section on the Nahe bank to the Nahe-Alsenz-Felsental , the southwest section to the Schloßböckelheimer Heide and the northwest to the inner Kreuznacher Lösshügelland . Traisen includes the residential areas Auf dem Rotenfels, Sonnenhof and Rotenfelser Hof.

Traisen borders (clockwise) on the city of Bad Kreuznach, on the local communities Norheim and Hüffelsheim .

Buildings

The St. Laurentius Church from the 15th century is well worth seeing.

The Bad Kreuznach telecommunications tower towering on the Schanzenkopf , in the immediate vicinity of the Rotenfels , is part of the Traisen district, as is the nearby quarry.

The Traisener Rotenfels

The district also includes the remarkable Rotenfels , a steep wall over 200 m high with the “Bastei” viewpoint. The Rotenfels is considered the highest and steepest wall  between the  Alps  and  Scandinavia .

Economy and Infrastructure

There are a few wineries, three restaurants and agricultural and small businesses in the area.

The federal highway 41 runs in the north, the federal highway 48 in the east . In Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg there is a train station on the two lines Bingen - Kaiserslautern and Frankfurt - Mainz - Saarbrücken.
