The first clear documentary mention comes from the year 1366, when Hochstätten was pledged to the knight Dietz von Wachenheim by the brothers Konrad and Heinrich von Hohenfels, the lords of Reipoltskirchen. It was owned by changing rulers until the 16th century. From 1553, the Grumbach Counts and Rhine Counts are the owners, who sold the village to Pfalz-Zweibrücken in 1755 . In 1768 it came to the Electoral Palatinate . After the French Revolution , Hochstätten was incorporated into the Donnersberg department in 1792, and in 1816 the place became Bavarian . During the first administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate, Hochstätten was reclassified from the Rockenhausen district to the Bad Kreuznach district in 1969 . The second municipal and administrative reform led to the change to the Verbandsgemeinde Bad Kreuznach on January 1, 2017 after the dissolution of the Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg community. From an ecclesiastical point of view, Hochstätten, as a place in the Palatinate , still belongs to the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate and the Diocese of Speyer .
