Lauschied is a municipality in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Nahe-Glan .

geography

Lauschied is located on a hill in the Glan - Nahe triangle. To the north is Meddersheim , east Abtweiler , south Desloch and west is Bärweiler .

history

The place was first mentioned in documents as Lubescheid around 1200 .

In 1797 and 1798 Johannes Bückler, known as Schinderhannes , Germany's most famous robber, stayed in Lauschied. The shoemaker Johannes Leyendecker from Lauschied is considered the intellectual instigator of many of the crimes committed by the Schinderhannes. Leyendecker was probably one of the few comrades of Schinderhannes who were mentally equal or even superior to him. From 1816 to 1866 Lauschied belonged to the Oberamt Meisenheim of the Landgraviate of Hesse-Homburg and came with this to Prussia in 1866 .
