Langenlonsheim is a local parish and the administrative seat of the Langenlonsheim-Stromberg community in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is shaped by viticulture .
Geographical location
Langenlonsheim lies between the southern edge of the Hunsrück and the Nahe . The distance to the district town of Bad Kreuznach is seven kilometers; to Bingen am Rhein it is just under ten kilometers. The Guldenbach flows on the western edge of the municipality and the Nahe in the south.

history
The first settlements in the area of Langenlonsheim probably date back to Roman times. The first documentary mention dates from the year 769.
During the time of the tribal duchies, the place belonged to the Duchy of Franconia . In the 13th century Langenlonsheim came under the rule of the Counts of Sponheim . In 1335, Count Johann II von Sponheim-Kreuznach gave his village “Langen Lonzheim auf der Nahe” to the Archbishopric of Cologne in exchange for 1000 pounds of Heller . At the beginning of the 18th century, Langenlonsheim belonged to the Oberamt Kreuznach and thus to the Electorate of Palatinate . Already during the French rule Langenlonsheim was from 1798 the seat of a mairie with five communities. According to the final act of the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the area became Prussian and the place remained the seat of a mayor's office .
Religions
Langenlonsheim there is a Protestant and a Catholic church . Until before the Second World War there was also an important Jewish Langenlonsheim community in Langenlonsheim .
The first sacred building in Langenlonsheim was a St. Nicholas Church (built around 1200), which is later mentioned as St. John's Church (around 1475). The church was damaged during the Bavarian-Palatinate War of Succession in 1504 and the fire in the village in 1540. In 1588 there was a new building as a Protestant parish church . A baroque (1777) and neo-Gothic (1868) renovation followed. From April 12, 1697, the church became a simultaneous church, d. H. the church was alternately available to Protestants and Catholics . That only changed with the construction of the Catholic Church in 1908.
The second sacred building erected in Langenlonsheim was the synagogue, built around 1860 , Hintergasse 30 , which was opened on 9/10. Demolished in November 1938 during the November pogrom in 1938 and its ruins removed in 1958.
The last sacred building built in Langenlonsheim was the Catholic Church of John the Baptist , built from 1907 to 1908 .

Sports
There is an outdoor swimming pool, a soccer field and an airfield in the village. The special airfield Langenlonsheim offers possibilities for gliding, powered flight and ballooning. The local Aero-Club Rhein-Nahe is the second largest air sports club in Rhineland-Palatinate and as of 2010 has a total of 274 members. The Aero-Club Rhein-Nahe was created in 2008 through the merger of the Flugsportverein Bad Kreuznach and Aero-Club Bingen-Langenlonsheim associations.
In 2007 the wrestling club Langenlonsheimer SC merged with the soccer club from Laubenheim to form TSV Langenlonsheim / Laubenheim. A youth syndicate is also practiced with TSG Planig.
Regular events
The Langenlonsheim Wine Festival takes place once a year, at which some Langenlonsheim wineries present their products to music on the market square at the parish church . The fair is also celebrated in the town center.
Economy and Infrastructure
Over the years, an industrial park with companies in various industries has emerged. This includes, among other things, the production of paints and varnishes, structural and civil engineering, wine filling and processing, filter media production, car dealerships, gardening shops, metalworking shops, warehouses and freight forwarders.
Viticulture
Langenlonsheim is significantly shaped by viticulture and with 187 hectares of vines, after Bad Kreuznach , Guldental and Wallhausen, it is the fourth largest wine-growing community in the Nahe .
traffic
The federal highway 48 leads directly through the municipality; the federal highway 61 is about five kilometers away. Langenlonsheim can be reached by train via the Nahe Valley Railway , and the tracks of the Hunsrückquerbahn run through the town, which are hardly used today because the Hunsrückquerbahn has been shut down.
Until December 1, 1938 there was a tram line from Bad Kreuznach Kornmarkt to Langenlonsheim train station . In the early days (1911), the so-called “electric” ran up to twenty times a day. At the former Kloningersmühle stop , travelers from the Hunsrück could take a direct route to Bad Kreuznach. Due to the increasing traffic after the Second World War, the tram had to give way to the bus. Overhead lines and rails were dismantled.

The primary school in Langenlonsheim and Realschule plus in the Nahe valley in Langenlonsheim , where the secondary school diploma can be obtained, provide the educational mandate .
