Gensingen is located in Rheinhessen between Mainz and Bad Kreuznach an der Nahe . The Rumpfmühle residential area also belongs to Gensingen .

Neighboring communities are (clockwise): Grolsheim , Bingen am Rhein , Horrweiler , Welgesheim , Biebelsheim , Bad Kreuznach and Langenlonsheim .

history

The place was mentioned for the first time in a deed of donation on November 1, 768 when Faginolf gave the Lorsch monastery everything he owned in the Nahegau in the Gensingen district.

South of Gensingen is the end of the four-lane upgraded section of federal highway 41 . This will lead to the federal highway 61 . The two-lane part bypasses the community on a shared route with federal highway 50 in a north-south direction.

To the west, the bypass road is connected via the approx. 4.5 km long state road 242 with federal road 48 near Langenlonsheim on the left near side.

To the north there is a connection from the federal highway 41 (old) to the triangle Nahetal, where the western end of the Rhine-Main stretch of the federal highway 60 is connected to the BAB 61.
