Oberheimbach is a municipality in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Rhein-Nahe Association , which has its administrative headquarters in the city of Bingen am Rhein .
Oberheimbach has been part of the Middle Rhine Unesco World Heritage Site since 2003 .
geography
Oberheimbach is located between Koblenz and Bad Kreuznach in the Heimbach valley, about two kilometers from Niederheimbach . The Kreuzmühle residential area also belongs to Oberheimbach .
history
Heimbach was first mentioned in a document dated June 14, 983, in which Emperor Otto II confirmed his rights under the spell of Bingen to Archbishop Willigis of Mainz .
