history

As part of the initiated in the second half of the 1960s, Rhineland-Palatinate, functional and administrative reform were October 1, 1968 at the former Koblenz Region of all from the Prussian time coming offices in Verbandsgemeinden converted. The municipality of Bacharach was formed from the Bacharach office ( district of Sankt Goar ), to which the city of Bacharach and the communities of Breitscheid , Manubach , Niederheimbach , Oberdiebach , Oberheimbach , Steeg and Trechtingshausen belonged. In connection with the dissolution of the Sankt Goar district on June 7, 1969, the communities belonging to the Bacharach community were incorporated into the newly formed Mainz-Bingen district ( Rheinhessen-Pfalz administrative district ). At the same time the communities were Muenster-Sarmsheim , Waldalgesheim and hamlets in Bingerbrück (until 1968 Office Bingerbrück , the district of Bad Kreuznach , Koblenz belonging) transferred to the district Mainz-Bingen.

On November 8, 1970, the municipalities of Bacharach and Waldalgesheim were dissolved and merged to form the municipality of Bingen-Land with its headquarters in Bingen-Bingerbrück , which is outside the administrative area of ​​the municipality . This made it the first association community in the Mainz-Bingen district. On October 31, 1986, this community was renamed "Rhein-Nahe".
