The Verbandsgemeinde Bodenheim is an administrative unit in the legal form of a regional authority in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate . The Verbandsgemeinde belong to five independent local communities , the administrative seat is in the eponymous community of Bodenheim .
It borders the state capital Mainz in the north, the Nieder-Olm association in the west, the Rhein-Selz association in the south and the state border with Hesse in the east.

The Verbandsgemeinderat Bodenheim consists of 36 honorary council members, who were elected in a personalized proportional representation in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , and the full-time mayor as chairman.

mayor
Robert Georg Scheurer (CDU) has been the full-time mayor since October 3, 2010. He was elected for the first time in the direct elections on March 7, 2010 and was confirmed in office for a further eight years on March 4, 2018 with 69.2% of the votes. His predecessor was Reinhold Stumpf, who had held the mayor's office since 2002.
