Coat of arms of the Verbandsgemeinde

Coat of arms of the Verbandsgemeinde

The coat of arms of the Nieder-Olm community consists of a shield divided into twenty red and silver. At the top right is a six-spoke silver wheel in red, at the top left in silver a red anchor cross, at the bottom right in gold a double-headed black red-armored eagle and at the bottom left in black a soaring golden red-armored lion.

The coat of arms of the Verbandsgemeinde Nieder-Olm thus combines the essential representations of the coats of arms of its eight communities. The cross appears in different forms in the coats of arms of Nieder-Olm, Ober-Olm, Klein-Winternheim and Sörgenloch. The Kurmainzer Rad can be found in the coats of arms of Klein-Winternheim, Nieder-Olm, Ober-Olm and Zornheim, the Electoral Palatinate lion in an old seal from Stadecken and the imperial eagle in the coat of arms of Elsheim and in an old seal from Stadecken. The anchor cross is finally taken from the coat of arms of Nieder-Olm. The coats of arms of the individual communities belonging to the Verbandsgemeinde go back to old court seals or emphasize the historical past.

The most important local and landlord before the French Revolution was undoubtedly Kurmainz in the area of today's Verbandsgemeinde . That is why the Mainz wheel occupies the most elegant place in the coat of arms at the top right and the Kurmainzischen colors red and silver are included in the shield border.

Logo of the association
