history
The history of the Mainzer Volksbank goes back to the year 1862. On March 1st, 1862, Mainz personalities from trade and craft founded the Mainzer Volksbank. Through mergers with several Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks in the region (including in Hochheim am Main 1966, Nieder-Olm 1969 and Bingen am Rhein 1970) it became one of the largest Volksbanks in Germany. In 2003 the merger with Raiffeisenbank Mainz took place. Since 2013, the Mainzer Volksbank has had a branch on the grounds of the Johannes Gutenberg University ( campus banking ).
