The Union Investment (full name Union Asset Management Holding AG), headquartered in Frankfurt am Main is the investment company of the DZ Bank and part of the cooperative financial network .

The sale of mutual funds firstly on the 875 cooperative banks , on the other hand on the field of Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall AG .

The main shareholder is DZ Bank with 72.23%. Other shareholders are the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken through their associations or affiliated companies.

Union Investment managed assets of 323.4 billion euros in 2018 .

history

On January 26, 1956, Union-Investment-Gesellschaft mbH was founded by 16 cooperative banks as the third German investment company. In the same year, the UniFonds share fund ( WKN 849100) was launched as the first open fund . In 1961, funds were offered for the first time in Belgium and thus outside Germany.

In 1965 the co op Immobilienfonds Verwaltung AG was founded in Hamburg and renamed DIFA (Deutsche Immobilien Fonds AG) in 1980. The shareholders were initially the central institutes of the consumer cooperatives and the BfG . In 1966, DIFA launched the open co op real estate fund (WKN 980550), later renamed DIFA Fund No. 1 and then UniImmo: Deutschland . From 1987 onwards, DIFA has been part of the overall cooperative network and is renamed Union Investment Real Estate GmbH in 2007.

Union Investment has been offering the management of investment accounts since 1967 . In 1968, the group's first bond fund was launched under the name UniRenta (WKN 849102). In 1969 fund assets of one billion DM were reached.

Union Investment Luxembourg SA was founded in 1988. The group's managed assets were now 10 billion German marks.

In April 1994 Union Investment launched a unit-linked asset management system with three strategy options (opportunity, growth and security). In 1996, the unit-linked life insurance OptiPlan was launched .

In 1999 the Union-Fonds-Holding Aktiengesellschaft was founded. This holding company changed its name in July 2002 to Union Asset Management Holding AG.

Awards

In 2018, Union Investment was rated as one of the best fund companies with 5 stars in the fund compass of the business magazine Capital for the sixteenth time in a row .
