Aspisheim is a municipality in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Sprendlingen-Gensingen , which has its administrative seat in the municipality of Sprendlingen .
geography
Aspisheim is located in Rheinhessen between Mainz and Bad Kreuznach . The Haus Krebser residential area also belongs to Aspisheim .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 767.
Until the end of the 18th century, Aspisheim belonged to the Electoral Palatinate . During the so-called French period (1794-1814) the place belonged to the canton of Oberingelheim in the Donnersberg department . Due to the agreements made at the Congress of Vienna (1815), the region later known as Rheinhessen came to the Grand Duchy of Hesse in 1816 (from 1918 People's State of Hesse ) and belonged to the province of Rheinhessen until 1945 . After 1946, Rheinhessen on the left bank of the Rhine became part of the new state of Rhineland-Palatinate , Aspisheim now belonged to the newly established Rheinhessen administrative district .
