Reinhard Leisenheimer

Reinhard Leisenheimer (born February 16, 1939 in Gensingen ; † November 9, 2014 in Breckerfeld ) was a German singer and university professor.

After attending primary school, Leisenheimer first trained as a bricklayer , worked in his parents' painting business and then as a postman at the post office. In addition to this activity, he sang with the Langenlonsheim Singers' Association and studied singing with Franz Fehringer in Mainz. After winning first prize in a singing competition, he was engaged as a tenor at the State Theater in Hanover in 1969 . From 1972 to 1976 he sang at the Nationaltheater Mannheim and from 1975 to 2004 at the Städtische Bühnen Hagen .

Since 1991 he has taught as a professor at the Cologne University of Music . For his achievements he was appointed chamber singer in 2002 . On November 9, 2014, Reinhard Leisenheimer died of cancer.
