history
In 1071, Bingert was first mentioned in writing in the Codex Laureshamensis , the document book of the former Lorsch abbey as "Binegarten". Feil was first mentioned in writing in 1237. The nearby Lemberg was from the 15th century to the beginning of the 20th century a very important supraregional source of mercury ores, see also the list of mines in the Palatinate and the Schmittenstollen visitor mine .
Today Feilbingert presents itself as a modern and at the same time traditionally shaped town. The German Emperor Wilhelm I spent the night in a restaurant, prevented from passing through by a storm. After the Congress of Vienna , Feilbingert belonged to Bavaria as a Palatinate town , where it remained until the end of the Second World War . During the administrative reform of the Rhineland-Palatinate, the place was reclassified from the Rockenhausen district to the Bad Kreuznach district. Ecclesiastically, Feilbingert still belongs to the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate and the Diocese of Speyer .
