geography

The wine village lies at the foot of the Soonwald . Wallhausen is in the south and Schöneberg in the north .

The Georgshof residential area also belongs to Hergenfeld .

history

Hergenfeld was probably created as a clearing site in the 7th century. It was first mentioned in a document in 969. During the time of the tribal duchies, the place was in the Duchy of Franconia .
