geography
The wine village lies in a side valley of the Nahe . Neighboring communities are (clockwise from the north) Meddersheim , Bärweiler , Hundsbach , Limbach (near Kirn) and Merxheim (Nahe) .
history
Kirchroth was first mentioned in a document as Rodde in 1364 . From 1816 to 1866 it belonged to the Oberamt Meisenheim of the Landgraviate of Hessen-Homburg and came with this to Prussia in 1866 .
