Association municipal council

Due to the upcoming merger of the Bad Sobernheim and Meisenheim municipalities on January 1, 2020, elections will not take place in the general local elections on May 26, 2019 , but only on November 24, 2019, but then already in a new structure. The term of office of the previous community councils was extended by state law to December 31, 2019. The Meisenheim municipal council, which is still in office for the entire 2019 calendar year, consists of 24 honorary council members who were elected in a personalized proportional representation in the local elections on May 25, 2014 , and the full-time mayor as chairman.

The full-time mayor of the Meisenheim community is Dietmar Kron (SPD). In the runoff election on October 13, 2013, he was elected with 56.1% of the vote, after none of the original three applicants had achieved the necessary majority in the direct election on September 22, 2013. Kron is the successor to Alfons Schneider (CDU). The eight-year term of office of Krons ends prematurely on December 31, 2019 due to the merger of the two municipalities of Meisenheim and Bad Sobernheim by a state law.
