Association municipal council
The Langenlonsheim municipal council consists of 28 voluntary council members who were elected in a personalized proportional representation in the local elections on May 25, 2014 , and the chairman. Because of the upcoming merger of the Langenlonsheim and Stromberg municipalities , the committee was not re-elected in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , but the municipal council election will not take place until March 22, 2020 (then already in a new structure). The term of office of the previous municipal council has therefore been extended to December 31, 2019 by state law.

mayor
The full-time mayor of the Langenlonsheim community is Michael Cyfka (CDU). In the runoff election on June 23, 2014, he was elected with a share of 58.51% of the vote, after none of the original three applicants - including predecessor Wolfgang Zimmer (Free List) - had received the necessary majority in the direct election on June 9, 2014 . Cyfka's actually eight-year term of office ends prematurely on December 31, 2019 due to the merger of the two municipalities of Langenlonsheim and Stromberg by a state law. Due to the merger agreement between the two municipalities, however, he will take over the office of the new municipality as a representative until the newly elected mayor takes office continue.
coat of arms
Blazon : "Shield divided by bars in blue gold, above in black a growing, looking, red-tongued and armored silver lion, below in red a gold winepress, shield border in blue-gold (eight-fold)." | |
Reasons for the coat of arms: The blue-gold colors come from the Counts of Sponheim . The silver lion refers to the Rhine Counts . The wine press symbolizes viticulture, which traditionally had great importance in all local communities. |
