The Verbandsgemeinde Stromberg was an administrative unit in the legal form of a regional authority in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate . The municipality included the city Stromberg and nine independent local churches to. The administrative seat was in the city of Stromberg. On January 1, 2020, the Verbandsgemeinde merged with the Verbandsgemeinde Langenlonsheim to form the Verbandsgemeinde Langenlonsheim-Stromberg .

Association municipal council

The Stromberg municipal council consists of 24 voluntary council members, who were elected in a personalized proportional representation in the local elections on May 25, 2014 , and the chairperson. Because of the upcoming merger of the Langenlonsheim and Stromberg municipalities , the committee was not re-elected in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , but the municipal council election will not take place until March 22, 2020 (then already in a new structure). The term of office of the previous municipal council has therefore been extended to December 31, 2019 by state law.

The full-time mayor is Anke Denker (SPD), she was directly elected to this office for eight years on November 4, 2012 with 51.53 percent of the votes cast . However, because of the merger of the two municipalities Langenlonsheim and Stromberg through a state law, Denker's term of office ends prematurely on December 31, 2019.
