The 7th Bundesvision Song Contest took place on September 29, 2011 in the Lanxess Arena in Cologne . After the victory of the band Unheilig last year, North Rhine-Westphalia was able to host the competition for the second time this year . With the organization of the show in Oberhausen , North Rhine-Westphalia held the first competition in 2005.

Lena Meyer-Landrut, representative of Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 and Eurovision Song Contest 2011 , conducted interviews in the Greenroom , while Elton, who was otherwise employed as a Greenroom reporter, sat in the audience and entertained them.

Tim Bendzko represented the federal capital and won with the lowest number of points so far (141) of a winner. For Berlin it was already the third victory overall. Bremen came in second with Flo Mega.

Attendees

In July , the winners of the first Bundesvision Song Contest in 2005, a former winning band appeared again with the same line-up for the first time ( Peter Fox had already won in 2006 with his band Seeed and as a solo artist in 2009).

Other returnees were the band Jennifer Rostock (2008) and Silly singer Anna Loos (2010).
