Doreen Steinert (born November 4, 1986 in Potsdam ) is a German singer .

life and career

Doreen Steinert's career start is closely linked to the casting show Popstars on the German TV station ProSieben . She first took part in the third season of the show in 2003, but only made it into the first 50. Her participation in the fourth season, which aired between August and December 2004, was much more successful. She reached the final of the show and prevailed there with her fellow candidates Markus Grimm , Patrick Boinet and Kristina Dörfer in a telephone vote against her competitors. The pop band Nu Pagadi emerged from the quartet . The band's first single Sweetest Poison reached number 1 in the German charts at Christmas 2004 and in January 2005 their debut album Your Dark Side also rose to number one in the charts. Due to musical differences with the rest of the band, she left the band in May 2005.

Steinert started a solo career. Together with the songwriters Steve van Velvet and Celina Bostic , the debut single Der Brief (which I never wrote) was created , with which she hit the German charts in September 2005. The single I am my own woman was published on October 27, 2006, the text for this title was written by her then partner Sido , with whom she was in a relationship from 2005 to 2012. On the long player Me and My Mask by Sido, which was released on May 30, 2008 , it featured the song No! a guest post.

On the album Fler by Fler Steinert can be heard on the second single Ich sing nicht für dich . The song was written by ex- No Angels singer Vanessa Petruo .

In 2011, Steinert entered with her single How could you only? at the Bundesvision Song Contest for Brandenburg and reached 13th place. Before that, she released her first studio album.

Steinert has been in a relationship with the Hanoverian model , musician and photographer NIK since 2014 , with whom she a. a. her 2014 single Ten Thousand Little Patches produced.

In 2016, Steinert appeared in the music video for Lonely by DJ Tomekk and Dante Thomas .

After a long break, she released the single Missing You as Reen in 2019 , which, however, did not make it into the German charts. In 2020 she released the song I want a man with the rapper Finch Asozial , which is included on his album Finchi's Love Tape .
