Dante Thomas
Dante Thomas (born January 7, 1978 in Salt Lake City , Utah ) is an American R&B singer and musician.
Life
Growing up in Salt Lake City, the son of an opera singer, Thomas was discovered by Lauryn Hill's producer and Fugees member Pras Michel . The first single Miss California reached the top of the German charts and was awarded a gold record . He has also received gold awards in other European countries. Shortly afterwards, the first album Fly was released, which reached the top 10 of the European charts.
In 2002 he worked on the single of the singer Inessa . This song reached the top 20. In 2004, the third solo single Get It On was released . The song was written by German songwriter and producer Obi Wan Keno, David Massag & Denis the menice. The single reached the top 20 and was number two in the German radio charts. At the beginning of August 2007, after a three-year break, the new single What I Got was released in Germany , and in summer 2009 the single Isn't It True.
In 2011 the single Damage Is Done was released on the Depro P Records label and distributed by the Warner Music Group . The single was able to place itself in the German charts straight away. It is a pre-release from the album Hardcore On Videotape, which was released in spring 2013.
Dante Thomas released the song These Days with Kris, the guitarist of Revolverheld , in 2012 . He also took part in the 2012 music show The Winner is ... in the “Professionals” category, but was eliminated in the second round on May 11th.
In the summer of 2012, the single Feeling So Blue was released , where he was a guest musician with the Michael Mind Project . The song uses a sample from the 1999 hit Blue (Da Ba Dee) . Feeling So Blue was featured on the Kontor Top of the Clubs Vol. 55 compilation. The single was in the upper half of the German, Austrian and Swiss Top 100. After the successful collaboration, another single was released in 2012 with the Michael Mind Project, Nothing Lasts Forever .
In 2013 the album Hardcore On Videotape was released . The second single was the title Caught in the Middle , which was produced by the Michael Mind Project. The single Alive was released at the same time as the album .
In 2016 the single "Lonely" was released with DJ Tomekk . Doreen Steinert plays in the accompanying video .
In 2016 he recorded the song A Guy Like You together with the Romanian pop singer Claudia Pavel , which was released as a single shortly afterwards. He also supported the rapper Kay One in the search for a new singer in the six-part TV format Kay One - Singer wanted .
2017 Dante Thomas took as a candidate of the RTL telecast Super Talent part.
Thomas lives in Saarland. He has a son and a daughter.
