Claudia Pavel (born October 19, 1984 in Mangalia , Socialist Republic of Romania ; also known by her stage name Claudia Cream or just Cream ) is a Romanian pop , dance and R&B singer, actress, dancer and model. She established herself as one of the most popular and successful singers in Romania and Moldova in the early 2000s.

Live and act

Early years

Claudia Pavel grew up in the Romanian spa and bathing resort Mangalia on the Black Sea. She has a sister. Pavel attended the local elementary school from 1991 to 1994 and middle school from 1994 to 2000. At the age of about seven, she began to be interested in music and took music lessons.

2000 to 2002: Candy

At the age of fifteen, she founded the pop group Candy with Giulia Anghelescu and Elena Vasilace . The single Mergem la mare ("We go to the sea"), recorded and released in 2000 , quickly became a hit and was able to place itself in the national hits.

After Mergem la mare the success gradually waned ; that in the same year published album Candy and the following albums O seară perfectă , De vis , Poveste , BEST OF and Clipa de azi could not build on the success of Mergem la mare .

In 2002 Pavel decided to leave the band and turn to other music projects.

2002 to 2003: DJ Project

In the same year she left Candy , Pavel joined the Romanian dance and pop trio DJ Project in spring 2002 . Alongside Ellie White , she was the group's second front vocalist until 2003; a new appearance of the band appeared for a short time. During this time, DJ Project released the album Spune-mi tot ce vrei and a single of the same name together with Pavel , before she quit at the end of 2003 in order to devote herself to her career as a solo artist.

Since 2003: career as a solo artist

Her first single Mai aproape and her first studio album Crede în mine were released under her new pseudonym Claudia Cream . The track Mai aproape is included on the album, the lyrics were written by Mihai Ogășanu and Mihai Dumitrescu.

On November 22, 2003, Pavel's second album Aştept was released , which u. a. was produced by Marius Moga and contains a duet with Moga. Her fourth studio album 48 de ore was also produced by Marius Moga and Don Baxter.

The album Wrong Girl for that released in 2008 and the single Candy contained on it were able to place in the Romanian and Moldovan music charts. Wrong Girl for that is Pavel's first English-language album. According to them, it has musical elements that the famous Swedish band ABBA used. The album contains fifteen tracks, including one with the American singer Fatman Scoop .

In 2009 Pavel received the Romanian Music Award for Best Female for the song Candy and in 2010 for Don't miss missing you as well as the Romanian Music Award for Best Pop for the song. Don't miss missing you reached number 10 in the Romanian top 10 charts for one week.

In the summer of 2011 she played a leading role in the Romanian action thriller "Therapia pentru crimă" . In it Pavel embodied a prominent professional killer. The film premiered on September 29, 2011 in Bucharest ; Pavel himself provided the soundtrack for the film.

Claudia Pavel is under contract with Roton Music and Cat Music .

Personal

In addition to her native Romanian , Pavel also speaks English , Spanish , Greek and Turkish . She is single and has no children.

She currently lives and works in Bucharest and Los Angeles .
