Live and act

Early years

Anghelescu attended the primary school "Școala de arte Dimitrie Cuclina" in Galați. She made her first stage appearance on the show Tip Top Minitop when she was six years old . In 1995 she released her first cassette with songs composed by Adrian Ordean and Mihai Ochiu. In 1996, Giulia formed the women's trio Flash with Monica Andrei and Andreea Antonescu , which quickly disbanded due to the lack of commercial success. She then took part in the casting show Școala Vedetelor and made it to the recall of the show.

2000-2005: Candy

In March 2000, she visited Laurențiu Duță , a childhood friend who had since become known as a musician. At his suggestion, they founded the band Candy , which consisted of her and two other singers. After a short time, the trio landed a one-hit wonder with the song Mergem la mare (“We go to the sea”) and released their debut album of the same name a little later . In 2002 the singer moved to Bucharest , where she attended the "Gheorghe Lazar High School". At the end of 2002 one of the singers left the band, but she quickly found a replacement. In 2004, another member left the band to begin a solo career.

Giulia Anghelescu live with DJ Project

2006–2008: solo career

Her second studio album Fluturi ("Butterflies") was released in the summer of 2006; according to her, it shows her transition from teen to lady. The tracks on the album represent a jigsaw puzzle from her life. In 2008 she released her third album Primul Pas ("The First Step"), which was produced by Marius Moga and Laurențiu Du uă and u. a. includes a duet with Gabriel Huiban. In 2008 Anghelescu won first place in the dance show Dansez pentru tine (“I dance for you”).

Since 2009: DJ Project , motherhood and fourth studio album

Anghelescu returned to the DJ Project (consisting of DJ Maxx and DJ Gino) as a replacement for Ellie White in 2009 , after she briefly participated in his debut album Experience in 2001 . In a short period of time the trio released three songs that achieved commercial success in Bulgaria. Nu (“No”), Regrete (“Regret”) and Mi-e dor de noi (“I miss us”) reached positions in the Romanian charts.

In 2011 she left the band because of her pregnancy. The following year she married Vlad Huidu and gave birth to a girl. Immediately afterwards her fourth studio album Un om cu un pian (“A person with a piano”) was released, which sold many times.

Since December 2016 Anghelescu has been the front singer of DJ Project again, replacing Xenia Costinar, who until then was the female voice for a short time.
