Me and my mask is the third solo album by the Berlin rapper Sido . It was published on May 30, 2008 on the Aggro Berlin label and is distributed by Universal . According to Sido, the style of the album is a mix of the previous albums Ich and Maske . The album immediately rose to number 1 in the German charts and number 2 in the Swiss and Austrian charts.
successes
On November 18, 2008, Sido said in an interview that around 160,000 to 170,000 records of the album had been sold so far. He also said that the "gold report" had not been submitted. This meant the message that at least 100,000 records of the album had been sold. They want to wait and see whether so many records of the album do not sell that it reaches platinum status (200,000 records sold). In the meantime, Sido has achieved gold status in Austria and platinum status in Switzerland for the first time.
Versions
The album Me and my mask looked like the last album I in a Standard Edition and a Premium Edition . The Premium Edition contains a second CD with 10 additional titles, a booklet with exclusive pictures and a wobbly picture of Sido and his mask. There is also a Limited Premium Edition , which contains a 3D mask and a forty-page hardcover booklet with all the lyrics and many pictures. Another version is the MZEE .com Edition , which in addition to the Premium Edition includes two Goofiesmackerz remixes and two instrumental versions as a bonus .
The Standard Edition is also available as a record .
The 2009 version was published on March 27, 2009. This also includes the 2nd CD of the Premium Edition.
Singles
Open eyes / shut your mouth is the first single from the album, which was released on May 16, 2008. This contains the normal version and two remixes of Augen auf and a remix of Halt dein Maul . As an extra, the Aggro Media Player is included as on the album . The second single is Carmen , which was released on July 25, 2008. The video for the single was shot in Mallorca , where Sido had number 1 tattooed on his arm. Aggro Berlin sees this single as a summer hit 2008. Heart is the third single from the album Ich und Meine Maske and was released on October 3rd, 2008. The song is about the fate of different people who should listen to their hearts, so do what their heart tells them. The single was produced by Paul NZA and Marek Pompetzki . The fourth single from the album is No! (feat. Doreen ), which was released on January 30, 2009.

As with its predecessor Ich , the producer duo Paul NZA and Marek Pompetzki acted as main producers of the album . They produced the pieces Intro , Back again , Shut up , Me and my mask , Pack beats itself, Pack gets along , eyes open , heart , strip for me , Carmen , fuck it , our life , no! , School and everyone gets what they deserve . They are also responsible for the songs on the Premium Edition Move your ass , which they produced together with the dance group Scooter , When the Bosses Talk , Your Parents and Shut Up Remix . Furthermore, the beat of the piece of music Aggrokalypse was contributed by producer Shuko . Also DJ Desue was involved in the production of the album. He created the beats for the songs Ich bin so gaga , Ich und mein Katzen and Kanacks & Hools . He produced the latter together with hip-hop musician Joe Rilla . It was also Djorkaeff by the title My Gang and DJ Katch by the song days involved in the making of the album. The Goofiesmackerz produced remixes for the titles Carmen and Halt dein Maul , which appeared exclusively on the MZEE.com edition of the album. The album was created in a studio in the basement of the Leipzig cotton spinning mill .

The album was originally due to be released in November 2007, but the release had to be postponed.

The cover shows a photo montage of Sido's head. The right side of the head is shown as a mask, on the left side Sido can be seen without a mask. This dichotomy is intended to depict both the title of the album Ich und Meine Maske as well as the connection to the previous albums Mask , on which it is depicted, and Ich , on the cover of which he removes the mask, since, according to Sido's statement, Der Stil ein Mix of both previous albums is.
