(2008)

Ich is the second solo album by the rapper Sido . It was released on December 1, 2006 on the independent label Aggro Berlin , two and a half years after his debut album Maske . After just two days of sale (on December 4, 2006) it achieved gold status . There were 80,000 pre-orders alone. The album debuted at number 4 on the album charts. After the album could not reach a chart position for a week in April, it rose again on April 16, 2007 at number 80. Three weeks later, the album again missed a position in the charts, but surprisingly entered the album charts again on June 18, 2007 at number 26. On March 24, 2007, I was awarded the gold record.

Versions

In addition to the normal version, there is a Premium Edition that contains a second CD with additional tracks. A ghetto edition has also been available since June 1, 2007 . The difference to the other versions is that the booklet has been left out, so it is available for 9.99 euros.

Songs

Singles

The first single from the album is Strassenjunge . It was released on November 24, 2006. On the album itself there is only one version with the sect music member Alpa Gun . The single contains four versions of the song. In addition to the original and instrumental version, a remix by Joe Rilla and one by Lexy & K-Paul can be found on the sound carrier. As a bonus track, Straßenjunge also includes Bergab's remix , which can also be heard on the Ich - Premium Edition . The street boy video , which was directed by Specter and Daniel Harder , was voted No. 1 on TRL Most Wanted in fifteen programs by MTV viewers on TRL . For this, Sido received the Golden Tape from MTV on January 23, 2007 .

In 2007 Specter and Harder made a video for Part of Me . The second single was released on February 2, 2007 and contains the original track, a Tai-Jason remix, a version with rappers B-Tight and Seryoga , the instrumental version, the Traxtar remix of the song Schlechtes Vorbild , and the Bonussong Kein Gott , on which B-Tight, Shizoe and King Orgasmus One , who appears here for the first time since Carlo Cokxxx Nutten on an Aggro Berlin release, have guest parts. Also Part of me could be elected to the TRL charts. With thirteen number 1 placements and various places 2 and 3, Sido just missed winning a second golden tape .

The third single Schlechtes Vorbild was released on June 1st, 2007. The accompanying video, which was also directed by Specter and Harder, consists of live recordings of Sidos Halt's Maul, Zahl Entry Tour, interviews and TV appearances. The single rose to number 23 in the single charts. The clip for the song reached number 2 on the TRL Most Wanted charts and number 1 on the Urban TRL program .

Songs

Decoupled singles

Strassenjunge
The first single from the album. Alpa Gun contributed to the version of the song on the album . In terms of content, Sido describes that he is not a gangster, but that the term street boy applies to him.

Bad role model
In the song, which is the third single from the album, Sido portrays himself as an unadjusted person, who has achieved something anyway or precisely because of it.

Part of me
The second single from the album “Part of me” is dedicated to Sido's son; he raps in it about his mistakes, which led to his son growing up without a father for the time being. Until the day when Sido can track down his son and get in touch with him again. From then on he wants to make up for all mistakes and never leave his side.

Others

Intro
The "intro" satirically recreates Sido's birth in a ski kit . Shortly after he is born, he hits his obstetrician and urinates on him.

Peilerman & Flow
"Peilerman & Flow" are two characters in a comedy radio play on the Berlin radio station 98.8 Kiss FM . In the album Ich you have four humorous skits that often relate to the previous or the following track.

I hate you
"I hate you" is a diss track, but the attacked person is not mentioned. The skit after this track is about rapper Azad , with whom Sido had already had physical arguments. In a passage of text, Sido says that he hates moments and butterflies. Both are also tracks from the rapper Bushido , who used to be on the same label as Sido, but has left it. Sido also mentions an owl. Eko Fresh got this derogatory nickname from Aggro Berlin circles.

Sarah
In the song "Sarah" a female person of the same name is insulted. Sido himself does not say which Sarah is meant, since he can be sued according to his own statements. It was believed that this person was Sarah Kuttner , who Sido often referred to as a bully on her former show and expressed other negative views about him. The assumption is supported by the fact that Sido referred to "Sarah's sagging tits" in Playboy in the song (Sarah Kuttner was actually shown in Playboy), that Sido sings in the track because Sarah does not like rap (Sarah Kuttner repeatedly expressed her aversion to German rap in their show) and that in the Skit after the song Sarah Kuttner is mentioned by name as "Sarah with the cowl". Sido later admitted that the person addressed was the moderator.

Every day weekend
The track "Every day weekend" is supposed to continue the song Endlich Woche , because of which the previous solo album by Sido Maske was put on the
index by the Federal Testing Office for Media Harmful to Young People. As a feature, Bass Sultan Hengzt is on the track. The track is about the fact that he not only celebrates on the weekend, but also during the week. This time, however, he mentions that this should not be copied, so that it cannot be a reason for indexing.

Cover of the Ghetto Edition

The cover was designed by Specter . It is black and white and shows Sido presenting a piece of wood with a nail in his right hand and his mask in his left. He is shown from head to hip and is wearing a tie and a shirt with blood stains on the collar. The background shows a shabby backyard.

On the cover of the Premium Edition, only the mask is shown, which lies on a black surface surrounded by barbed wire .

In the spring of 2007 Sido presented his album as part of the Halt's Maul ... Zahl entry tour. This started on April 3rd in Bremen and ended on April 28th in Rostock . The concerts took place in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. B-Tight, Viruz, DJ Werd and Alpa Gun were on stage with Sido as support.
