Carlo Cokxxx Nutten is a collaboration album by the Berlin rappers Bushido and Fler , who appear on the sound carrier under the pseudonyms Sonny Black and Frank White. The album was released on October 21, 2002 on the independent label Aggro Berlin . In 2005 a second edition of the album was pressed. In 2017 the album was released for the first time as a record in the box edition of Bushido's album Black Friday .

At the time of its creation, Bushido already had a permanent artist contract with Aggro Berlin . It was Fler's first professional release. However, the rappers have not yet managed to enter the charts with the sound carrier.

meaning

Carlo Cokxxx Nutten is one of the most influential albums in German gangsta rap , alongside Bushido's solo album Vom Bordstein bis zur Skyline . It was published in the early days of Aggro Berlin and contributed significantly to the label's later commercial success. Bushido and Fler were also able to benefit greatly from the sound carrier, who were able to climb high into the charts with their solo albums in the following years thanks to the increased level of awareness they gained during the release. Today both have founded their own labels and are regularly at the top of the charts.

The hip-hop magazine Juice counted Carlo Cokxxx Nutten as well as Vom Bordstein bis zum Skyline in the March / April 2013 issue of the five German "Gangsta-Rap-Essentials".

content

In terms of content, a large part of the songs on Carlo Cokxxx Nutten revolves around life in the ghetto . Frank White and Sonny Black rap about drug trafficking, prostitutes and gun violence. The description of difficult living conditions in Berlin's outskirts is reinforced by the rappers' hard speech.

Guest Posts

There are only three features to be found on the collaboration album. B-Tight , who had already recorded the sampler Aggro Ansage Nr. 1 with Bushido and Sido in 2001, has a guest contribution on the song Why? . The other two features come from King Orgasmus One ( drugs, sex, gangbang ), which only appears as an orgasm here , and D-Bo ( don't say ... ). A year before the release of Carlo Cokxxx Nutten , both rappers , together with Bushido, were among the founders of the I Luv Money Records label . The sound recordings for the Miami Skit and the outro are from Horsecock and Lil Chima respectively.

Contents of the songs

Cover of the limited new edition
Intro, electro, ghetto

The intro begins with a sample from the film Full Metal Jacket . Then the listener can hear Billy13's voice. This speaks out against the predominantly existing form of German-speaking rapeseed at the time of publication and against people who are tough ("wannabe Berliners"). Afterwards she says that women like “gangsters” and that gangsta rap (“rap in leather jackets”) is more popular than the pop-inspired version of hip-hop. After Billy13 stops speaking with the words "Carlo - Cokxxx - Nutten", the rappers Sonny Black and Frank White begin their lecture. The content of the intro revolves around drug trafficking, prostitution and violence, the form of presentation is battle rap . Both musicians rap twelve lines each, so-called lines.

Cordon Sport Mass Murder

Cordon Sport Massenmord appeared in 2001 on Aggro Announcement No. 1 . The song is a battle track, in which it is, among other things, about drug use, one's own hardship and the mother's personal aversion to a person who is not named. The refrain is sung to some extent. The line “Cordon Sport Mass Murder. Now is war, from now on “The track was used in Polosport Massenmord (2011) by Fler, Silla and MoTrip and in 2014 in Shindy and Bushido's AMG track . A scaled-down sample of the line “Your best track is nothing if the gangsters poop on you” also appeared in 2013 in the track Stress for no reason by Bushido and Shindy.

Yo, Peace Man!

Yo, Peace Man! was also released on the 24th CD of the hip-hop magazine Juice . The song is another battle track and is directed against other rappers who produce "hip-hop on the assembly line". This will also Optik Records , the former label of Kool Savas mentioned.

Miami Skit

This is the album's first skit and it makes fun of "wanna-be-rappers". A man talks about his label under the pseudonym Horsecock and reports that he is now doing hip-hop. He tries his hand at rapping, and this is ridiculed. At the end he tells about the fact that he was shown the album Carlo Cokxxx Nutten from his label. This impressed him very much.

Bathing area

With Badeiese , Sonny Black and Frank White want to show the critics that you can produce good songs even with meaningless rap (“King Frank raps, Bitch, straight, even without a message”, “You only want tracks with meaning - you want to leave, yes where"). The hookline is repeated four times at the end of the song.

Carlo, Cokxxx, hookers

Carlo, Cokxxx, Nutten is Fler's only solo title on the album of the same name. Due to the atypical music for the album and the hard performed verses, Fler was able to increase his popularity with this song and thus win fans.

Why?

As a guest you can hear B-Tight , who already had a contract with Aggro Berlin at the time the album was released . Why? is a battle track, in the refrain of which an imaginary person is asked the questions why they “can't do it”, their own father says that they are “no good”, that conditions in the world are bad and where it comes from that the person addressed is stupid, while the three rappers are successful and powerful ("Kings"). In Fler's verse, Eko Fresh (“Whether German or Ekrem, I'll rap until they run away”) is dissed. A few years later, Eko Fresh put the sentence at the beginning of his disc track Die Abrechnung .

Your life

Your life is one of the few more profound songs. It is directed against the "normal" lives of people. The rappers report on their lives and the rejection of school and work ("Oh be quiet, fuck your high school graduation. You go to school well, I sleep until 1pm."). They ask the listener whether he is satisfied with his life and whether he is proud to do it like everyone else.

Go home

Go home is a typical battle track in which Sonny Black and Frank White glorify themselves and defame their opponents and critics .

Drugs, sex, gangbang

Drugs, Sex, Gangbang includes a guest appearance by King Orgasmus One , the label boss of I Luv Money Records . This takes over the first verse, in which he describes himself as a "misogynist" and describes the tasks of a woman with cleaning, cooking and performing sexual practices. Fler does not appear on this song. Bushido once again presents the gangsta rap attitude on the song, which speaks out against the formulation of complicated verses ("Fick on your double rhymes"). In addition, Bushido refers to drugs, sex and gangbang as "New German Wave", the slogan that Fler used three years later to market his first solo album .

Cokxxx Skit

Apart from Miami Skit, the title is the only Skit on the collaboration album. At the beginning, the listener can hear a person pull something through their nose, presumably cocaine . Then you hear a sentence that is repeated several times ("Koks makes you aggressive, I'm on it and punch you over"), which is sung crookedly.

boss

Along with Cordon Sport Massenmord, Boss is one of two songs on the album that have already been released on Aggro Announcement No. 1 . Again, Fler has no part in this song either. In terms of content, the song is about money. Bushido tells of his already expanded financial possibilities and how he will expand his property. Sentence passages from the film Donnie Brasco are also used.

Who wants war?

Who wants war? is another battlesong that alludes to the cowardice of critics ("Who wants war? You don't, because you are dear.").

look at me

On Look at me rapping Sonny Black alone. The content of the song is an exception on Carlo Cokxxx Nutten , as it is about the end of a love affair. The song is written from the point of view of a person who wants to hold onto the relationship, is convinced of the continued love between the partners and for whom the separation amounts to the deprivation of meaning in life.

with special needs

A classic battle track is disabled , in which an imaginary counterpart is treated with contempt through insults. Both musicians rap a verse between the choruses of the song. The hookline was arranged by Sonny Black and Frank White so that Black raps the beginning of each verse and White closes it ("If you think it won't get worse" - "let's slaughter your toys like cattle").

Do not say…

On Say Not… Frank White and D-Bo each rap a verse, which is followed by a hook from Sonny Black. The song is a battle track which, as an additional content component, closes the relationship with former and false friends.

Outro

The voice of a boy can be heard in the outro. He says: "If I were a gangster, the police would come now". The text was taken from Lil Chima .

Production and samples

The music was produced by Bushido using an MPC . DJ Ilan mixed the finished songs and controlled the cuts for the tracks Yo, Peace Man! , Bathing area , drugs, sex, gangbang and who wants war? at.

Most of the productions are somber, and - typically Bushido - use string samples. For example, Yo, Peace Man! Strings from Eric Serras She Is Dead . For the song Carlo, Cokxxx, Nutten , a sample from Herbert Grönemeyer's Far too much was used. Boss and Look Me sample songs by James Horner ( A Kaleidoscope of Mathematic , The Car Chase ). The track Disabled contains elements of The Cross by the band Samael .

marketing

The song Yo, Peace Man! was made available to the hip-hop magazine Juice . It appeared on the magazine's 24th sampler. In addition, Bushido and Fler went on a Carlo Cokxxx Nutten tour.

Cover design

Cover of the second edition

The cover by Carlo Cokxxx Nutten shows a photo of the interior of a warehouse, in the center a forklift truck lifting a row of cardboard boxes on which a woman in long black boots is sitting, legs apart. Another woman sits at the wheel of the forklift. All cardboard boxes shown are printed with the Carlo Cokxxx Nutten logo developed by Aggro Berlin .

In the second edition, the cover was essentially retained. However, the delivery takes place in a cardboard slipcase. Only the logo, which consists of an opened butterfly knife , which is circled by a saw blade, and the lettering can be seen on it. The background is black with uneven red areas on the edges. In addition, the note "The Original 2nd Edition" has been added.

Sequels

In 2005 the follow-up album Carlo Cokxxx Nutten II was released , which Bushido had produced again under the name Sonny Black. Due to the disputes with Fler that arose in the course of Bushido's separation from Aggro Berlin, Bushido's rap partner is Saad on the second part .

After the dispute with Fler was settled , a successor in the original line-up appeared in 2009, also under the name Carlo Cokxxx Nutten 2 .

In 2015 Carlo Cokxxx Nutten 3 was finally released , which Bushido recorded as a solo album, as another argument with Fler broke out. This was followed by the album Carlo Cokxxx Nutten 4 with Animus as a partner at the end of 2019 .
