Behind Blue Eyes is the eighth solo album by the Berlin rapper Fler . It was released on November 2, 2012 via his independent label Masculin as a standard and limited Amazon edition including DVD, instrumentals, t-shirt and poster. The style of the album is musically based on southern rap and moves away from the gangsta rap texts that are widespread in Germany. This brought him a lot of negative criticism from the listeners, especially in Germany.
background
After Fler released the collaboration album Südberlin Masculin II on March 9, 2012 together with Silla , he announced his next solo album, Behind Blue Eyes, in May 2012 . The US-American rapper at the same time gave Fler early May of 2012, French Montana than Featuring will be on the album. On June 1, 2012, the label sampler of his label Maskulin Masculin Mixtape Vol. 2 was released . In July 2012, the rapper Alpa Gun publicly revealed that he also had a guest contribution on the album. In the run-up to the release of Behind Blue Eyes , music videos for three songs from the album premiered. A music video for the single number one was released , followed by videos for the title song Behind Blue Eyes and for the song La Vida Loca . In addition, an info video from Miami was released shortly before the premiere of the music video for number one. Fler uploaded some excerpts from the Behind Blue Eyes DVD to YouTube. Four months after the album was released, all the songs on the album were uploaded to YouTube. Most of the beats for the album were produced by DJ Ilan in collaboration with Mminx. Some productions are from X-plosive . The producer duo Beatzarre and Djorkaeff also created an instrumental.
Cover design
The album cover is in black, white and blue colors. It shows Fler's face, with his eyes shown in deep blue. On his forehead are the words Masculine Presented and Behind Blue Eyes .
Guest Posts
In addition to Fler, other artists can be heard on five or seven songs on the album. This is how the rapper Animus appears. Beauty is ephemeral , while Kool Savas raps a verse on the song Team Blade . Masculine member Silla and singer Moe Mitchell are involved in You're Worth It , and the latter can also be heard on Nightlife . Chart successes
In the 47th calendar week of 2012, behind blue eyes , it entered the German album charts at number 3 and was 56th in the following week. The record then left the Top 100. According to its own statement, the album reached around 11,000 in the first week times sold.
The first single number 1 was released on September 21, 2012. The song entered the German charts at number 92 for a week. The second release followed on October 19, 2012 with the title song Behind Blue Eyes , which was ranked 96th in the German iTunes charts. A video for the song La Vida Loca was also released. A third single was released on December 14th, 2012 with Take Me As I Am .
The music videos for Number 1 and Behind Blue Eyes were shot by French director Chris Macari , who previously filmed music videos for the album Berlins Most Wanted . Chris Macari became known through music videos for French rapper Booba .
