Aggro Anti Announcement No. 8 -

Aggro Anti Ansage Nr. 8 is the sixth and last sampler of the Aggro Berlin label . The release was released on December 5, 2008 via the Berlin record company. Universal Music took over the distribution of the sampler. On Aggro Anti Announcement No. 8 , the five hip-hop musicians who were under contract with Aggro Berlin in 2008 , Sido , B-Tight , Kitty Kat , Fler and Tony D, as well as other representatives of the Berlin rap scene are presented. The sampler reached number 25 in the German, number 20 in the Austrian and number 10 in the Swiss charts.

background

Aggro Berlin began in May 2002 with the release of the first “Ansage” as an EP with rappers Sido, Bushido and B-Tight. This was followed by annual samplers at Christmas 2002, on which the artists currently under contract with the record company were presented. As part of the publication of the Aggro Announcement No. 5 in 2005, the label boss Specter stated in an interview that he found the annual "Announcement" "almost a burden" and an obligation, so that he could not yet make a statement about whether another one Sampler will appear. In the following two and a half years, the label focused on marketing their artists and releasing their solo albums. Only in August 2008 was a new sampler announced under the title Aggro Ansage Nr. 8 . As the reason for the title as number 8, Fler said that Aggro Berlin had left out two announcements and would therefore like to continue with the eighth edition. In addition, the title fits the year 2008. The publication took place on December 5th, 2008. Due to the closure of the label on April 1st, 2009, Aggro Anti Announcement No. 8 is the end of the series.

Contributions

In the songs of Aggro Anti Ansage No. 8 , Sido, B-Tight, Kitty Kat, Fler and Tony D appear in different constellations. Furthermore, the rapper Godsilla , with whom Fler released the album Südberlin Masculin in 2008 , is involved in three songs, including the solo title Silla Instinct . The group Scooter was musically involved in the creation of the song Move your ass . In addition, Harris and Ozan and Berlin Crime -members MC Basstard and gynecologist represented on the sampler.

Two tracks from the sampler had already appeared on Aggro Berlin's albums before they were released on Aggro Anti Ansage No. 8 . Egoist can also be heard on B-Tight's album Goldständer and MOVE YOUR ASS on the “Premium Edition” of the album Ich & Meine Maske by Sido. Tony D's piece Hundert Metaz was featured again for the album Für die Gegnaz! used.

Singles

A so-called “split video” was produced to market the Aggro Anti announcement No. 8 . For this, parts of the songs Hundert Metaz by Tony D, 5 crass rappers by Tony D, Kitty Kat, Fler, Sido and B-Tight as well as So is es by Sido and Fler were implemented as a video.

On January 23, 2009, the single Move Your Ass was released, for which a video was also shot. This contains the original version, the instrumental version, an “etching music remix” and the video of the title. At the Comet Awards 2009, Sido, Tony D and Kitty Kat received the award in the “Best Song” category for Move Your Ass . In the German charts, the single reached number 17 and was represented in the hit parade for a total of ten weeks. In Austria, too, the piece was able to position itself in the singles charts at number 34 and in Switzerland at number 100.

Max Brandl dealt with Aggro Anti Announcement No. 8 for the Laut.de e-zine . The editors of the site gave the sampler three out of a possible five evaluation points. From Brandl's point of view, Aggro Anti Announcement No. 8 doesn't offer much new, but is a solid release. Despite "deficiencies in content", Fler surpassed his label colleagues at the sixth announcement. Godsilla is also praised in the criticism. In contrast to this, Sido, who is the most prominent member of Aggro Berlin, appears “now strangely out of place” among the other artists on the label. Brandl sees the contributions B-Tights as particularly negative, which is characterized by "a mouse-on-house rhyme scheme, the ingenuity of a beer mat and the best hidden rap technique". In contrast, Tony D deserves recognition for his passion and the "voluntary comic accents". Kitty Kat complements the male representatives of the label and delivers "the absolute highlight" with the title Fiesta, recorded together with Tony D. The productions are rated positively, but are also “mainstream line-shaped”, which runs counter to the propagated anti- image of the sampler. More eccentric beats were only used for the pieces Pussy by Kitty Kat and Du bist Scheiße by Sido.

In a review by Rap.de the editor attested the sampler a "handful of good songs", which means that it is rated as mixed. In terms of content, the review deviates from Max Brandl's opinion in several places. The beats are good, but also boring because they are too similar to productions used on earlier Aggro Berlin releases. The title Anti Ansage , which has the same basic structure as the song Bergab from Sido's album Ich , is mentioned as an example . On the other hand, the instrumentals to Du bist Scheiße , Aggro Berlin Ding and Move your ass stick out positively . From the perspective of Rap.de the best contributions of the sampler were contributed by Fler ( people talk ), Sido ( you are shit ) and B-Tight. Sexy from B-Tight is clearly positively highlighted in the review as "very big cinema". On the other hand, Kitty Kat remains inconspicuous and Godsilla is "nothing more than a decorative accessory" next to Fler.
