Airmax Muzik II is the sixth solo album by the Berlin rapper Fler . It was released on April 8, 2011 as a standard and premium edition (including two bonus songs and a 30-minute DVD) on Flers Label Masculin and was distributed with the help of Groove Attack .

content

In terms of content, the album is a versatile release. In addition to personal songs, it also includes the battle tracks known for Fler. Regarding the content, Fler said in an interview with Marcus Staiger for rap.de: “ I think" Airmax Muzik 2 "is something new. In terms of the sound, however, I tend to think that you have to do something with new people with individual songs, perhaps new features from other genres ”. In the 2011 intro , Fler explains his relationship with Sido . He plays on the common song Was is Beef? on. The song Südberlin auf probation is a disstrack against the rappers Kollegah and Farid Bang , whereas I and no mask flavor is dedicated to Sido. The single minute cycle deals with life in a district guarded by police officers. In the song You make me breathe , money is personified and equated with a woman. The songs Brother and Mama is not proud of me are personal songs. In the autopsy track , the rappers Kollegah, Sido, Farid Bang, Eko Fresh and Summer Cem are dissed .

The song Germany your stars deals with prominent personalities from Germany. The people Stefan Raab , Sarah Knappik , Jay Khan , Indira Weis , Lena Meyer-Landrut , Sarah Connor , Marc Terenzi , Wladimir Klitschko , Verona Pooth , Dieter Bohlen , Boris Becker , Detlef Soost as well as the girl group LaVive and the casting show X- Factor mention. Fler also plays on the TV show I'm a Star - Get Me Out of Here! on. In an interview with rap.de magazine, Fler commented on the song Germany your stars : “ Germany wants everyone to be the same, but then there are no stars either. It goes without saying that there is no progress. DSDS is the best example. In other countries someone like Usher or Leona Lewis comes out of such casting shows, in Germany nothing comes out of it. MTV only had to close in Germany. It is clear, if you don't celebrate your stars, then you have no stars, and if you have no stars, then you cannot make music television either [...] if I rap about Germany, then I want a new Germany, like that as I wish ”.

background

On February 2, 2007, Fler released the mix tape Airmax Muzik on the independent label Aggro Berlin . The Federal Testing Office for Media Harmful to Young People indexed this mixtape in 2009. In the same year he left Aggro Berlin and since then has released several albums about Ersguterjunge until he founded his own label Masculin in 2011. Airmax Muzik II thus represents the first album release by the Maskulin label. Airmax Muzik 3 was announced for the end of 2013 , but this was not released.

The reviews of Airmax Muzik II were average.

At Laut.de the album received 2 out of a possible 5 stars:

“The beats are thrown together with a lot of synthesizers and sometimes booming basses. Every now and then even a Kopnicker comes out ("Du Wirst Gebangt") or something bombastically stomping ("Never Believed In Me"). Especially the producer Gee Futuristic has done his homework and stands out from X-Plosive, Beatzarre and Djorkaeff. So the album babbles a little half-life. “Minute Tact” treats the situation with cops and the custody quite seriously. In addition, the sung hook works, even if it would have come better without sirens in the background. "

At Rap.de the album received 7 out of a possible 10 points:

"So Fler is breaking new ground in business and was rewarded for this courage. Musically and in terms of content, that much is to be anticipated, the native of South Berlin shows far less will to change or even further develop. This is good news for everyone who has always appreciated Frank White's ignorant manner, but not so good news for those who trust Fler to come around the corner with a really extremely personal album. Well, if he intends to do that, they have to wait at least until the next release. "
