Specter Berlin is the artist name of the graphic artist , art director and director Eric Remberg (* 1975 in Bonn ). He is one of the founders of the Aggro Berlin label , Geto Gold Musikverlag and Aggro.tv GmbH.

Eric Remberg was born in Bonn in 1975 . He grew up bilingual (German and French) in Paris . Remberg was interested in drawing from an early age and was later active as a graffiti artist in the Squat Force group. Since 1992 he used the pseudonym Specter .

His first professional graphic work for the music industry, including the music producer Jimmie Jay , was created while still in Paris . He then lived in Washington, DC for two years before moving to Berlin at the age of 20 , where he began studying graphic design. Works for the breakdance contest Battle of the Year , the company MZEE , the Backspin Hip Hop magazine and hip-hop musicians such as MC Rene and Spax or the DJ collective Phaderheadz were created .

From 1999 Specter Berlin accompanied DJ Tomekk as art director and illustrator for the production 1, 2, 3, Rhymes Galore with Grandmaster Flash and Flavor Flav and was responsible for the set design in Berlin and New York. Specter can be seen in the video and at the end signs it with a huge tag . For DJ Tomekk, other works such as I live for Hip Hop with GZA and Return of Hip Hop (Ooh, Ooh) were created .

Together with Jens “Spaiche” Ihlenfeldt and Halil Efe, he founded the independent label Aggro Berlin in 2001 , for which he worked as A&R and was responsible for the entire graphic design. Specter designed the label CI with the iconic saw blade logo, the artist logos and the cover of the publications, but also significantly shaped the visual identity of some of the Aggro Berlin artists. Is best known for by him for Sido as a mixture of a skull and a Shure - Microphone designed mask , the eponymous published for the 2004 debut album of the artist was. In collaboration with Daniel Harder , Specter also shot the majority of the music videos for the Aggro Berlin artists. On April 1, 2009, Aggro Berlin ended the label work, but remained as a company and retained the rights to the complete back catalog . Since then, the company's focus has been primarily on the video platform aggro.tv.

Together with Ihlenfeldt and Efe, Remberg founded the independent Geto Gold Music Publishing House in 2004, initially as the publishing home for the Aggro Berlin artists. Since the end of the label activity of Aggro Berlin, the publisher has represented composers and copywriters from various fields in cooperation with Sony / ATV Music Publishing .

Specter shot numerous music videos for other artists in the period that followed. His music video for Bushidos and Sido's track So do ich es was awarded in the category Best Video at the 2012 Echo Awards. In the same year, his video for Joachim Witt's song Gloria , which showed scenes of rape and murder by Bundeswehr soldiers based on an idea by Specter, sparked controversy. In addition, advertising clips were created for companies such as Volkswagen , Mercedes-Benz , Lexus and Nike .

In 2017 he shot his first feature film with Antimarteria , the script of which he also worked on.

At the Hiphop.de Awards 2017 he was awarded the prize for his life's work.

In March 2019, the music video he directed for the Rammstein single Germany was released , for which he also acted as executive producer .
