Thomas Wilhelm (born January 13, 1984 in Bergen on Rügen ) is a German athlete .

biography

He initially spent his school days in Binz on Rügen, where he attended the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt Gymnasium . Thomas Wilhelm passed his A-levels at the sports grammar school in Neubrandenburg .

In 1999 he set a German record in the block all-around race for the first time, which continues to exist. In the following years he won numerous titles over 400 meters and in 2003 even gold in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the European Junior Championships in Tampere, Finland. Since 2005 he started for LG Eintracht Frankfurt , trained in the training group of Olympic champion Volker Beck , and was German relay champion in 2005, 2006 and 2007. In 2007 he completed his last season as a competitive athlete and in the same year began a three-year course with the Federal Police. In 2008 he moved to the 1st LAV Rostock under the supervision of the local trainer Peter Schörling.
