AMYF is the ninth solo album by the German rapper Bushido . "AMYF" stands for his real name Anis Mohamed Youssef Ferchichi . The album was released on October 12, 2012, and videos were shot for the songs Intro , Little Bushidos and Theory & Practice . The second video release, Little Bushidos , was previously released on October 4th, and the corresponding song was released the day after. Before the album was released, information videos were also published regularly.

background

Almost a year earlier, the album 23 was released on October 14, 2011 . Since then Bushido had married and had a daughter, but at the same time had to deal with his mother's renewed cancer. Bushido later stated in interviews that as a result of the latter event he went to psychological treatment and that he regularly visited the mosque . The time between the two album releases is comparable; before that, only a good five months passed between the release of Jenseits von Gut und Böse on May 13, 2011 and album 23.

In spring 2012 Bushido posted on Facebook that he had just ordered AMYF from Bushido . The album was then available for pre-order on Amazon.de. During the same period, Bushido's longtime companion and backup rapper Kay One fell out with Bushido and left the ersguterjunge record company . As a result, El Moussaoui was signed as a replacement for the upcoming tour to Bushido's previous album Jenseits von Gut und Böse . On some dates Bushido was also accompanied by his brother MoTrip . He finally announced in an interview with the website 16bars.de in May that he had worked with Bushido on some titles for AMYF . On August 22nd, 2012 Bushido released a first info video for the album. A little later the track list and the iTunes version were published. The deluxe version also includes a DVD that shows exclusive studio recordings.

The album title is shown on the cover picture as a formula:

Emergence

In the run-up to the recordings for AMYF , Bushido had, like him later, eliminated several rivalries and animosities with former musical companions, which is why many rappers who are not under contract with Bushido's label ersguterjunge are overly represented on the album compared to previous works . At the same time, Bushido's own presence in the general public had decreased relatively and his collaboration with major labels was now limited to distribution, which is why he collaborated with artists such as King Orgasmus One , who last appeared on Carlo Cokxxx Hookers , who appeared almost ten years earlier a song they had recorded with Bushido was possible again. As part of this, with Bass Sultan Hengzt , another artist, with whom Bushido had last worked about seven years earlier and with whom he had fallen out, should be represented on AMYF . According to Bushido, a guest contribution from this did not materialize because Hengzt did not manage to finish his contribution before the album release date for AMYF .

Bushido's original plan was to have two artists each, who already share a common musical past, in several songs. So should gynecologist and King Orgasmus One and Eko Fresh and Summer Cem each appear together on a title as a feature guests. While gynecologist, King Orgasmus One and Eko Fresh, finally, on the songs Südrapstarz two , guys' night or underground (Part 2) were represented, to Bushido says that it finally Cems decided own for a share buzzer on amyf as this during the promotion of his own Album Sucuk & Champagner have expressed disparagingly about Bushido.

At the same time, according to Bushido's original ideas, Fler should also be represented on AMYF . In this case, three tracks with Fler, Sido and MoTrip should have represented the respective single releases and all artists should have appeared in the music videos of the two tracks on which they were not represented musically. Due to his personal experiences from his most recent collaboration with Fler with the albums Carlo Cokxxx Nutten 2 , Flersguterjunge and Berlins Most Wanted published on Bushido's label ersguterjunge , as well as the animosity between Sido and Fler at the same time, Bushido rejected this idea.

The rapper MoTrip was meanwhile particularly heavily involved in the creative phase of the album. In addition to the title Snare Drum I rap , on which he is featured as a feature, he is used for the songs Self is the Man , Living Legend , Leave Me Alone , Real Life , Not Like You , Theory & Practice , Aaliyah , Boundless and AMYF identified as a co-author.

Production & guest posts

The production of the individual songs was carried out by Bushido himself, Beatzarre , Djorkaeff , Gee Futuristic , X-Plosive Beats , Phat Crispy and the 3nity production team. Are represented as guests gynecologist , El Moussaoui, King Orgasmus One , Eko Fresh , MoTrip, Joka , Sido, Brutos Brutaloz and J-Luv represented.

Singles

On October 5th, 2012, a week before the album was released, AMYF 's first single, Kleine Bushidos , was released . This made it to number 45 in the German charts and reached number 46 and 64 respectively in Austria and Switzerland, but was only able to stay in the charts for one week in all three countries. On the other hand, with the release of the album, Lass mich reached rank 60 in the German charts, rank 52 in Austria and 34 in the single charts in Switzerland just through single downloads. The second single on the album, the title theory & practice recorded with Joka , was the first Bushido single in 10 years to not be in the single charts in any of the three countries and only reached number 61 on the German iTunes charts. Application On March 15, 2013, at the same time as the digital premium version of AMYF was released, the title Panamera Flow, which was not previously on the album, was released as the third single on the album. This reached number 51 both in Germany and Austria. AMYF is the first Bushido album since Vom Bordstein bis zur Skyline , from which no song could stay in the single charts for more than a week.

tour

An 11-concert AMYF tour was originally announced for April 2013 . Since Bushido's mother died three days before the tour began, it was canceled at short notice. In autumn 2013 the concerts were rescheduled for the tour. The AMYF tour began on September 23rd in Große Freiheit in Hamburg and ended on October 6th in the Huguenot Hall in Neu-Isenburg . On the AMYF tour , Bushido was accompanied by Shindy as a backup rapper for the first time.

Other doctorate

Compared to previous Bushido albums, AMYF was advertised less intensively in the classic media. Appearances on TV shows did not take place, while his previous albums 23 , Beyond Good and Evil , Times Change You and Heavy Metal Payback were all promoted with appearances on TV Total and, with the exception of the former, The Dome . Especially for the immediately preceding album with Sido, 23 , a specially convened press conference, an appearance at Markus Lanz and an appearance at Schlag den Raab, which was canceled at short notice, were scheduled for the promotion .
