AnNa R.

AnNa R. , bourgeois Andrea Neuenhofen, née Rosenbaum (born December 25, 1969 in Berlin-Friedrichshain ) is a German singer and lyricist . She became known as a member of the Rosenstolz duo .
life and career
AnNa R. grew up in East Berlin . During the GDR era, she tried to gain a foothold in musical life, but repeatedly encountered difficulties with her critical texts. In the entrance exam at the Friedrichshain Music School , to which she entered with a song by Whitney Houston , she failed. She then trained as a chemical laboratory technician and tried her hand as an unskilled music dealer in addition to this profession , but continued to take singing lessons .
After German reunification , she founded the group Rosenstolz together with Peter Plate in 1991 , of which she was the singer. In addition to her work for Rosenstolz, she was also involved in other cultural projects. In 1998 she co-wrote the official Rosenstolz biography Dear me, if you can, take me, take me whole . Among other things, she read texts by Oscar Wilde in the Munich Long Night of Books in 2002 . In 2005 she was a guest singer with the German band Silly .
In December 2012, Rosenstolz announced that they would go their separate ways. In spring 2013 AnNa R. reported back as the singer of her new band Gleis 8 .
Personal
In 2002 she married her long-time partner, MTV - Senior Producer and Director Nilo Neuenhofen, who also directed many of the Rosenstolz group's videos (e.g. I want to fall in love ).
In July 2013, she reported in an interview with the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung that the middle name Natalie , ascribed to her by Wikipedia , was an invention. The capitalized "N" in her stage name does not stand for a first name. The spelling “AnNa” was only chosen by her in 1992 because she found it “very pretty”. The name Natalie came up with "someone who apparently wanted to give the capital N a meaning". Regardless of this, it is also mentioned in the manual Who was who in the GDR? under the name "Rosenbaum, Andrea Natalie". In the same interview, she said that she practices boxing together with her partner and is the patron of the boxing department of a Kreuzberg club.
