The object of desire is the fourth studio album by the Berlin pop band Rosenstolz , released on May 10, 1996, and at the same time the name of the accompanying tour.

background

Object of Desire is the first album that Rosenstolz released on Polydor after switching from the Berlin indie label Traumton . It was co-produced by Peter Plate. It was the first time for Rosenstolz that the production was paid for by the record company. On previous albums, Tom Müller, as producer, had always borne the financial risk alone. This enabled Rosenstolz to record the song Der Moment with twenty violinists, cellists and violists. The song Angst is about the anxiety and panic attacks that Plate suffered from in the summer of 1995.

The song Sex im Hotel was released as a single . The songs Object of Desire / Let It Rain and The Moment were also released as promo CDs .

The Object of Desire Tour started in May 1996 and lasted into December. On November 4, 2002, a remastered new edition of the album was released.
