Herz is the ninth studio album by the Berlin pop band Rosenstolz released on March 22nd, 2004 .

Origin and style of music

Herz was admitted to Hamburg from January to December 2003. The album shows significant differences to the previous album, Macht Liebe , released in 2002 . While this is a rather coarse language and the rhythms are more electronic, Herz seems very melancholy overall. The album offers a mixture of rock and pop songs, plus ballads.

The album offers two facets: a happy side, which is particularly evident in the pop and rock songs, and topics such as sex ( a question of light ), envy ( the yellow monster , which is strongly reminiscent of Nina Hagen's early punk days ) or happiness ( Welcome ), and a sad side that consists mainly of ballads with profound lyrics. It's about partnership ( love is everything ), hope ( give me more heaven ), but also pain ( love is dead ) and loss ( moment ).

The album, which was released on March 22, 2004, reached number one in Germany, number 20 in Austria and number 55 in Switzerland.
