Gib mir Sonne was released on August 29, 2008 on the Universal Music Group label and was written by Ulf Leo Sommer and the two musicians from Rosenstolz himself. The song is included on the Rosenstolz album The Search Continues . The video also pays homage to the movie Little Miss Sunshine .

The song is about the new courageous departure after a low. The refrain reads: " Give me the sun, give me warmth, give me light, all the colors back again. Burn the snow, the gray has to go, give me a little luck. " In the end you should have life, happiness, celebrate the day and yourself.
