The search continues is the eleventh album by the German pop duo Rosenstolz ; it was released on September 26, 2008.
background
With the title The Search Continues , Rosenstolz thematize on their eleventh album, according to Plate, the search "for the ultimate state that every person is looking for, namely happiness." Topics such as loss and unhappy love are dealt with. The album begins with the song "I am my house" and a quote from the film The Legend of Paul and Paula . According to AnNa R., “I am my house” is about personal responsibility: “I understand it to mean that you are responsible for yourself and that you cannot pass it on to other people or powers. It has something to do with self-awareness. That doesn't mean that you can't be helped. "
The song “On a Morning in April” is dedicated to the late mother of Plate's partner Ulf Sommer. On the other hand, there is the first single, "Gib mir Sonne". In the video, two children and their grandmother say goodbye to their recently deceased mother. Despite death and loss, the song calls for a celebration of life. Plate explains this as follows: “I am very life-affirming and I try to express that musically. During such a period of mourning you realize at some point how great life actually is: You move closer together and recognize how valuable friendships are. "The subject of transience is also indirectly addressed on the album cover:" If you look closely at the cover, it's stuck also a nudity in it that has something to do with the beginning and the end of life. But I still wouldn't exaggerate that. Ultimately we just make music. "
Single releases
With Gib mir Sonne Rosenstolz managed for the first time in her career to reach the top spot in the German single charts. The play was also the theme song Sat.1 - telenovela Anna and the love with Jeanette Biedermann , which started on 25 August, 2008. On September 18, 2008, a review of this album by Klaus Wowereit was published in Stern .
On October 16, 2008, Rosenstolz announced on their homepage that How Far Is Over would be the second single from the album. The release date was December 5th, 2008. Rosenstolz landed on number eight in the German single charts.
In January 2009, a “Tchibo special edition” of the album was released, which in addition to the regular album contains a bonus CD with five exclusively compiled French titles.
The album was awarded three times platinum in Germany, once platinum in Austria and once gold in Switzerland.
On April 3, 2009, the single was released blue spots . It was originally scheduled to be released a few weeks earlier, but the single wasn't finished in time. In December 2008, AnNa R. and Peter Plate recorded the new version of Blue Spots , which has the additional title “3 o'clock in the morning”. The single also contains the B-sides Everything is enlightened and Susi in a red dress . It was the first time that a Rosenstolz single with Susi in a red dress contains a solo song by Peter Plate as the b-side. A video was also released for the song.
On September 11th, 2009 the single Ich bin mein Haus was released , which contains five songs from The search goes on in new versions. The single was limited to 5,000 copies. Copy 0001 was auctioned on eBay for the benefit of the German Aids Aid and achieved proceeds of 585 euros. On September 18, 2009, Die Suche geht weiter appeared with an expanded track list, which also contained the B-sides of the album era.
