Cladoxerus ( . Syn : Baculum , Abrachia and Ceratiscus ) is one for Gespenstschrecken - family Phasmatidae belonging to genus . It is named for the tribe Cladoxerini to which two other genera are counted. Their elongated representatives correspond in habit to typical stick insects and arenative tothe tropical part of South America.
Systematics
The genus was established in 1828 by Amédée Louis Michel Le Peletier & Jean-Guillaume Audinet-Serville for Cladoxerus gracilis , which is therefore the type species . Henri de Saussure established the genus Baculum in 1861 , which for a long time was a collective genus for species with a similar habitus that were not yet precisely assigned. Among the dozen species in this genus were found as popular as the Annam stick insect (now Medauroidea extradentata ) or the Vietnam stick insect (now Ramulus artemis ). As a result of revisions to the genus, most of them can now be found newly assigned in genera that have existed for a long time, such as Ramulus and Cuniculina, or in specially established genera such as Medauroidea . The genus Baculum itself and the five species remaining in it, including the Baculum ramosum listed as the type species of Baculum , was published in 2016 by Frank Hennemann et al. transferred to Cladoxerus . Two of the last five species were originally described under a generic name used only for them, so that the following synonyms result for Cladoxerus :
- Baculum Saussure , 1861
- Abrachia Kirby , 1889 - goes to the description of Abrachia brevicornis back
- Ceratiscus Caudell , 1904 - goes to the description of Ceratiscus laticeps back
The following species are included in the genus Cladoxerus :
- Cladoxerus bispinosus Piza , 1939
- Cladoxerus borellii ( Giglio-Tos , 1910)
- Cladoxerus brevicornis ( Kirby , 1889)

- Cladoxerus cryphaleus ( Westwood , 1859)
- Cladoxerus dentatum Piza , 1938
- Cladoxerus dentipes ( Redtenbacher , 1908)
- Cladoxerus ditomus ( Westwood , 1859)
- Cladoxerus gracilis Peletier de Saint Fargeau & Serville , 1828
- Cladoxerus laticeps ( Caudell , 1904)
