Alin Coen Band is a German singer-songwriter formation that was founded in May 2007 and is named after Alin Coen, the group's lead singer. Musically, the band moves between pop and folk . The four musicians of the Alin Coen Band come from Weimar and Hamburg .

history

The lead singer Alin Coen, who was born in Hamburg in 1982, went to study in Weimar in 2003 and met the musicians there, with whom she finally founded the band in May 2007.

In 2008, the Alin Coen Band was allowed to take part in the PopCamp of the German Music Council , which is known as the “master class for pop music”. At the end of 2008, Alin Coen appeared on the Berlin internet music show TV Noir . The clips of her songs quickly became the show's most popular, and over time they achieved several hundred thousand views on YouTube. As a result, the Alin Coen Band repeatedly made guest appearances on TV Noir and in 2010 was awarded the “TV Noir rocket” in silver.

In 2009 the band supported Jakob Dylan , Starsailor , Philipp Poisel , Regina Spektor and Amos Lee . On April 19, 2009 she was featured in the ZDF program Pop Cracks . The band performed live on television on April 30, 2009 on the Scobel program on 3Sat, and in May 2009 went on a tour of several German cities. A tour of Canada followed in August 2009. Her debut album Who are you? was released on August 27, 2010 on their own label Plant a Tree (Roughtrade). On August 24, 2010, the group was the music tip of the week on stern.de.

From August 31 to October 18, 2010 the Alin Coen Band completed another tour through music clubs and the like to promote their album. a. in Berlin, Cologne, Munich and Hamburg, which was organized by the Peter Rieger concert agency. In 2011 the one wants more and more tour followed with concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

On April 14, 2011 the band received the German Music Author Award in the category of young talent. At the Bundesvision Song Contest 2011 they competed for their home state Thuringia and took 12th place.

On June 28, 2013, the album We're Not the Ones We Thought We Were was released. For this, a video for the song was A No No Is a shot. Directed by Dietrich Brüggemann .

From her appearance on Inas Nacht on October 28, 2010, her song Festhalten was released along with nine other guest appearances on the bonus CD Inas kleine Nachtmusik with Ina Müller's album Ich bin die .

Compilations and guest appearances

Alin Coen is featured on the TV noir sampler 15 Knaller , published in 2010, with the piece “Das letzte Lied”. For Enno Bunger's album Wir sind über, which was released in 2012 , Alin Coen was invited to sing the piece “I want to stay, the night is still young”. In the first release of LOT, that is Lothar Robert Hansen , in December 2013 she sang a feature in the song Niche , which got almost 100,000 views within a few months.
