Our love is made of gold is a song by German dance pop - band Frida Gold . The track is the fourth single from their debut album Juwel .
Creation and artwork
The song was composed and produced by Alina Süggeler and Andreas Weizel. The single was mastered by Sterling Sound in New York under the direction of Tom Coyne, the single was mixed by Moritz Enders in the Maarweg studios in Cologne . The single was released under the Warner Music Group music label . On the front of the cover of the maxi single - next to the inscription of the artist and the song title - Alina Süggeler and Andreas Weizel can be seen facing each other naked. On the back you can see the remaining two band members Julian Cassel and Thomas Holtgreve. The cover picture was shot by the German photographer Alexander Gnädinger and designed by Katharina Coen. The recordings took place in the Hattinger recording studio Lovesound Studio.
Publication and promotion
The first release of the digital single took place on September 23, 2011 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland . The physical sound carrier was released a week later on September 30th, 2011. Just in time for the release, Süggeler presented himself with blonde (gold) colored hair in order to better represent the single. In addition to the radio version , the maxi single also contains three remix versions of Our Love is Made of Gold , as well as the song Breath On as the B-side . The remixes come from the Beatgees , CJ Stone and the Manhattan clique. In addition to the regular maxi single, there is also a release with only two titles that includes the songs Our Love Is Made Of Gold and Breath On . To promote the song, u. a. a live appearance in the ARD morning magazine .
Bundesvision Song Contest 2011
In order to promote the song and herself, Frida Gold competed in the 2011 Bundesvision Song Contest as defending champion for North Rhine-Westphalia . They took seventh place with 76 points. They got at least one point from all federal states and from their home country North Rhine-Westphalia the band got the full number of points with twelve points. For promotional purposes, every artist shoots an election commercial for participation in the BuViSoco. In this, Frida Gold digs for gold in the Sunshine Mine (Bochum) and they let a huge gold heart wander around downtown Bochum.

In an interview with “Provocateur Magazin”, Alina Süggeler explained that she dealt with the subject of sibling love in the song. It was created at a time when her brother and sister were both on a world tour. She was looking for a way to get in touch with them and tell them no matter where they are, they always carry them with her.

Music video
The music video for our love is made of gold celebrated its premiere on September 16, 2011 on the websites of MTV and VIVA . The video was shot in the Babelsberg film studio . You can mostly see Alina Süggeler, who trots through a city on a horse and watches people. The observed follow her and at the end Alina Süggeler can be seen with her horse in front of a large crowd of people. The total length of the video is 3:25 minutes. Directed by Marcus Sternberg, it was produced by Free the Dragon Filmproduktion.
