North Forest Nature Park
The Nordwald Nature Park with an area of 750 ha is located on the western edge of the Waldviertel highlands in the Großpertholz and Karlstift districts in the market town of Bad Großpertholz in the Gmünd district in Lower Austria .
Natural sights
The Nordwald Nature Park comprises an extensive forest area. In addition to dense coniferous forests , the protected area also consists of arable and meadow corridors, quiet ponds and raised bog landscapes , which give the nature park a Nordic - Scandinavian character. In addition to peat moss , Icelandic moss , round-leaved sundew and dwarf birch , the area is also home to black grouse , capercaillie and various species of insects .
