The song is written in both German and English. The first two stanzas of Ding and the refrain are written in German, the third stanza in English. As in most other Seeeds songs, all three singers are involved. Baigorry sings the first verse, Nabé the second and Dellé the third (in English).
In Thing , Baigorry's part and the chorus are also in English, while Nabé's part has been replaced by a French-speaking part from the Saïan Supa crew .
Music video
In a jungle setting, the Berlin television tower refers to the connection between the big city and the jungle as a reference in the first image of the video. A vertical camera panning in plan sequence onto the inside of the jungle leads to a music-making monkey (a mixture of gorilla and orangutan), who operates on a carillon, only to make his way to a forest disco shortly afterwards. In a synthesis of computer and puppet animation, the video traces the course of the evening: the monkey gets drunk and flirts with various (animal) women. According to the text, supported by visual symbolism, he endangers his marriage - he is "obsessed with sex". Only excessive alcohol consumption and the associated delirium can save the animal-driven monkey from committing adultery. Directed by Philip Hillers and Trikk17 .
Bundesvision Song Contest 2006
Seeed won the Bundesvision Song Contest 2006 for Berlin with a 16 point lead over the band Revolverheld , who played for Bremen , with the song “ Friends remain” (136 points). While the points were awarded in all 16 federal states , Seeed set themselves apart relatively early on with a small margin from their fellow competitors. In addition to their home in Berlin, they also got full points from North Rhine-Westphalia . This was the first victory of an artist from Berlin in the second edition of the Bundesvision Song Contest .
For promotional purposes, every artist shoots an election commercial for participation in the BuViSoco. This shows live recordings of Seeed, and in between you can see people calling for Seeed's victory, including a call by Sido , who ran for Berlin last year.
